Laser surgery for removing acne scars

Laser surgeries become very famous in acne treatments. Using laser, the dermatologist can do the surgery very smoothly with no loss of blood. One of the popular types of laser skin surgery is done using non-ablative laser but it is not useful to treat on acne scars. In acne scar removal surgery, the dermatologist uses a wand-like laser hand-piece which removes the scarred acne skin cells completely. Then after some time a fresh and healthy skin cells are replaced. As the method is very accurate, your doctor has to point out only affected area.

It is up to your doctor to remove the entire affected skin and to stop at the normal skin. If you want to do this kind of laser treatment, it is always best to go to a well-trained dermatologist. Generally the skin surgeons use two kinds of lasers to remove acne scar. One is the Erbium and the other is carbon dioxide (CO2) laser. The former one has very precise wavelength which perforates in to the skin and absorb the moisture in it. Then the heat from the laser is spreads to remove only infected skin. The later one is recently developed technique in skin surgery circles. It emits high-energy and focus only on scarred skin and vaporizes them completely.
