Aspirin and acne

Aspirin, applied topically, is one of the best treatments for acne. These treatments can be in the form of masks or medicinal washes. Aspirin contains acetylsalicylic acid, and therefore fights acne by cleaning out pores, clearing debris from the skin and reducing inflammation. Aspirin is also a beta-hydroxy acid and is commonly used as an ingredient in many cosmetics that aid in clearing skin. Apart from coming with a low price tag, this is one of the quickest ways in which to get rid of acne. A simple mask can be made out of aspirin by crushing a few aspirins and mixing this with water. It should then be applied on the acne-infected skin and left to dry. Once dry, it can then be washed off.

While washing the mask off, it can be rubbed into the skin to serve as an exfoliant, thereby removing dirt, grime, and other acne-inducing agents. Another effective means of using aspirin is to use it as a face wash. This can be done by dissolving aspirins completely in water and using this water to thoroughly rinse the affected area. Aspirin’s anti-inflammatory properties help clear the skin of acne and result in clear, healthy and glowing skin.
